Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
